Research
We believe that ethical research is an important tool for enhancing the lives of our animal residents. We acknowledge that there is always room for improvement in their care, and that's why we welcome students interested in conducting research projects. Whether you're studying animal behaviour, environmental science, zoology, or any other related field, we encourage you to consider our sanctuary as a place to conduct your research.
In addition to helping us improve the care of our residents, you will gain valuable experience and skills that will be useful in your future career. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with our knowledgeable staff and learn about the day-to-day operations of a sanctuary.
Research at Brockswood
Research is crucial to enhance our understanding of animals and their behaviour in captivity, such as in a sanctuary or zoo and in the wild. We support and encourage projects within our collection that advance the knowledge of animal requirements, especially in captive environments.
We welcome applications from students who want to conduct a study or research project as part of a further/higher education course from an accredited institution. Unfortunately, we cannot support private studies that are not part of an accredited course or are not conducted by a registered educational institution at this time.
By promoting such projects and research at Brockswood, we aim to engage in studies that not only expand knowledge and understanding of animal behaviour, care, welfare, and environmental enrichment but also align with our mission and foster ongoing connections with other institutions.
If you're interested in conducting research at Brockswood, please feel free to contact us or complete the application form below. Thank you!
